USA Hockey, in partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Statewide Amateur Hockey of Florida, is hosting the Festival in Florida for the first time. The first weekend of the Festival runs Thursday, March 28, through Sunday, March 31, and features five of USA Hockey’s disabled hockey disciplines, including blind, deaf/hard of hearing, standing/amputee, special and Warrior. The Festival concludes the following weekend (April 4-7) with sled hockey, including the USA Hockey Sled Hockey National Championship.
The AdventHealth Center Ice in Wesley Chapel, Florida, will serve as the primary facility both weekends, while nearby Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex (Ellenton, Fla.) will also be utilized. Each weekend will see USA Hockey host a Try Sled Hockey event. Both events will take place at the AdventHealth Center Ice, which will host the first event on Saturday, March 30, from 2-3 p.m. ET before conducting the second event the following Saturday, April 6, from 2-3 p.m. ET.
