The Ottawa 67’s are hottest team in the Canadian Hockey League, setting a new franchise record with their 15th consecutive win on Thursday.
2020 NHL Draft prospects Jack Quinn and Marco Rossi led the way to an 8-4 victory over the visiting Kingston Frontenacs, with Quinn potting his first career OHL hat-trick to continue an eight-game goal scoring streak. Rossi stretched his current point streak to 17 games with a goal and two assists while overage winger Austen Keating lit the lamp twice, scoring his 100th career OHL goal.

Ottawa’s 15-game winning streak surpasses the franchise’s prior mark set during the 1998-99 season. The run of success dates back to November 16th and has come under both head coach Andre Tourigny as well as associate coach Mario Duhamel who took the reins once Tourigny departed to serve as an assistant with Canada’s National Junior Team.
Ottawa boasts a 28-6-0-0 record, scoring a league-high 162 goals while surrendering a league-low 91. Their power play is operating at a league-high 31.1% while they also operate the league’s fourth-ranked penalty kill (81.2%).
Rossi leads the OHL in scoring with 66 points (24-42–66) over 28 games, producing at a league-high 2.36 point-per-game clip while also leading the way in plus/minus at plus-43. The 2020 NHL Draft prospect is on a 16-game point streak while linemate and reigning OHL ‘On the Run’ Player of the Week Joseph Garreffa is on a 17-game trend.
In goal, local product Cedrick Andree has been among the league’s best netminders, posting a 2.36 goals-against average and .918 save percentage to go with a 20-5-0-0 record and two shutouts in 26 games. Second-year netminder Will Cranley, who made 29 saves for the win on Thursday, is 8-1-0-0 on the season.
The 67’s look to keep their winning streak alive on Sunday when they play host to the Erie Otters at 2:00pm.
