The Chicago Wolves can close out the Central Division Finals with a win at home in Game 6 tonight… The Wolves’ 7-4 victory on Friday night was the first by a road team in the series and gave the regular-season division champions a three-games-to-two lead… Chicago scored seven goals in Game 5 after totaling eight goals over the first four games of the series… Curtis McKenzie (4-3-7) led the way with a hat trick, giving him four goals in the last two contests… It was the first hat trick by a Wolves player in a postseason game since Jason Krog scored three times in Game 6 of the 2008 Calder Cup Finals vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton… Gage Quinney (1-2-3) tallied a goal and two assists on Friday night, his first points in six outings this postseason… Daniel Carr (1-5-6) and Stefan Matteau (1-3-4) added a goal and an assist each… The Wolves were 3-for-6 on the power play in Game 5; Iowa entered the game having allowed just one power-play goal on 34 chances all postseason… Ryan Donato (2-4-6) scored his first two playoff goals for the Wild… Kyle Rau (4-2-6) ended a six-game drought with a goal, and Matt Bartkowski (1-1-2) scored his first postseason goal since May 13, 2013, with the Boston Bruins (vs. Toronto)… Iowa is 1-4 on the road this postseason and has lost 21 of 30 all-time visits to Allstate Arena; Chicago has won four straight at home.

Game 6 of the Pacific Division Finals tonight gives San Diego another chance at wrapping up the series, this time on home ice… The Gulls fell in Bakersfield in Game 5 on Saturday night when Josh Currie scored 13:02 into the second overtime period to give the Condors a 2-1 victory… For Currie (1-3-4), who scored eight game-winning goals during the 2018-19 regular season, it was his first career postseason goal… Joe Gambardella (6-3-9) scored his fifth goal of the series for the Condors in Game 5… Stuart Skinner (2-0, 1.52, .948), making his first start of the postseason after relief appearances in Game 3 and Game 4, made 45 saves for the Condors and shut out San Diego over the final 62:18… Kevin Roy (2-1-3) scored the Gulls’ only goal in Game 5, giving him a point in each of his three games played this postseason… Jeff Glass (5-3, 2.27, .921) finished with 42 saves; six of Glass’s 12 appearances over the last two postseasons have included overtime (3-3)… Gulls forward Adam Cracknell (6-5-11) was scoreless in Game 5 but continues to lead all scorers with 4-4-8 in the series… San Diego has allowed the game’s first goal in seven of its nine playoff games, but is 4-3 in those contests… Game 5 was the third game of the series to require OT, and the second to need more than overtime period… This is the first Calder Cup Playoff series with more than one multi-OT game since the 2011 North Division Finals (Hamilton vs. Manitoba).

In the Stanley Cup Playoffs yesterday, Matt Grzelcyk scored twice and Boston defeated Carolina, 6-2, in Game 2 of the NHL’s Eastern Conference Final… Fellow Providence Bruins alumni Jake DeBrusk, Connor Clifton and Danton Heinen also scored for Boston.
In the IIHF World Championship in Slovakia yesterday, Anthony Mantha led the way with two goals and three assists as Canada blanked Great Britain, 8-0… Colin White scored two goals as the United States defeated France, 7-1… Anton Lander‘s hat trick paced Sweden to an 8-0 victory over Italy… Yevgeny Dadonov scored two goals for Russia in a 5-0 win over Austria… Matthias Plachta scored for Germany in their 2-1 win over Denmark.
