Abbotsford is keeping it simple.
Vancouver’s newest AHL affiliate will be named the Canucks, playing off of the team’s parent club in a rather simple way.
The logo focuses on the Johnny canuck character that has existed within the organization since 1952, but only served as an alternate at the NHL level.
The Canucks had asked season ticket holders to rank their top three favorite choices out of a list of 10 names. Among the names not selected included the Aces, Sockeyes and Millionaires.
The Canucks will play out of the Abbotsford Centre in the league’s Pacific Division this coming season, joining fellow newcomers Palm Springs, Seattle’s farm club, in the fray.
