Veteran forward Mary Parker will add to the outstanding depth of talent the Boston Pride has already accumulated this offseason, as she re-signed this morning for the 2019-20 NWHL campaign. Parker, who wears No. 7, is the eighth player signed by the Pride.
“I’m very excited to return to the NWHL and the Boston Pride for the upcoming season!” said Parker. “I’m fortunate to be able to continue playing the game I love in my hometown.”
Parker played the final three games of the 2016-17 season with the Pride and has played the last two full season with the Pride. Parker has nine points (4-5-9) in 31 NWHL games. She posted a pair of assists in the Isobel Cup Playoffs in 2017-18, after finishing the regular season with a goal and three helpers. This past season, she was named VEDA NWHL Player of the Week on Feb. 20 after scoring three goals in two games.
“Every time I step on the ice, I strive to use my speed and create opportunities all over the ice,” said Parker. “I’m excited to leverage the skills and experience I have developed over the past few seasons to better the team. Being part of the NWHL and the Pride is also an important opportunity to help continue to build women’s hockey and be a role model for the younger generation.”
A native of Milton, Massachusetts, Parker has stayed close to home, spending four years at Harvard and one at Boston University. A two-time All-Ivy League selection, she racked up 91 points (43-48-91) in 104 games with the Crimson. She led Harvard in scoring (17-22-39) during the 2014-15 season, helping lead the team to the NCAA Championship game. In her graduate season with the Terriers, she led Hockey East with 22 goals and ranked second in the conference with 45 points, earning Second-Team Hockey East All-Star honors. Prior to college, she played varsity hockey at Noble and Greenough.
