The Ontario Hockey League family is deeply saddened upon receiving news of the passing of long-time Owen Sound Attack media room hostess Bernice Ruhl.
Having greeted media, scouts, hockey operations and game day staff with a smile and cup of coffee for over 20 years, Bernice’s warm presence at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre will be missed league-wide.
A familiar face around Owen Sound, Bernice was named the City’s Volunteer and Senior of the Year in 2014. The OHL sends thoughts and condolences to her friends, family and the entire Attack organization.
The Attack organization is heartbroken to learn of the passing of Bernice Ruhl.
Bernice made a massive impact on hockey in Owen Sound, running our media room for 20+ years and concessions at the Bayshore prior to that.
We’ll miss your smile and your stories, Bernice. pic.twitter.com/YIx5v5XqIO

Bernice was a consistent face at the Bayshore. Always smiling and knew and remembered everyone. Such a sweet person.
