Toronto, ON – The CWHL is thrilled to announce that Juno Award-nominated artist Shawn Hook will be performing the Canadian anthem at the Clarkson Cup final on Sunday, March 24th. He will also be attending the annual CWHL Award Show on Friday, March 22nd.
The Canadian singer, songwriter and producer is an avid hockey fan, who once dreamed of playing in the NHL. Shawn played hockey growing up and has continued to play the game, including participating in the Juno Cup as part of the Juno Awards weekend. The BC native released “My Side of Your Story”, his Hollywood Records premiere EP featuring four songs that showed his diverse musical background. Since then, his single “Sound of Your Heart” has gone double platinum and his more recent single “Reminding Me” has gone platinum with more than 200 million streams worldwide.
“We’re excited to have Shawn join us at the Clarkson Cup final, to help kick off what promise’s to be a thrilling and intense battle for the cup. As a Canadian artist with a passion for hockey, we’re glad he’s able to be a part in one of our premier events, by attending both the CWHL Awards show and the Clarkson Cup final” Interim Commissioner Jayna Hefford said. “The Inferno and Les Canadiennes are two incredibly talented teams, being the first and second place team. This is going to be a great celebration of our athletes and the sport, that fans are not going to want to miss.”
